    I think it has more to do with sending a message to their people. The team represent their nation, and their nation has started a war of aggression, so the nation and therefore the team shouldn’t be welcome. It is sad for the players though.

        It’s also not fair that Russian players get to practice and train in peace, while Ukrainian players have to deal with all of the consequences of the invasion.
