I want to wire an MCU to an IMU board and some Lemo sockets inside a 3D printed enclosure but the silicone wires I use are a pain to deal with in such a small case. Is there a counter indication to using magnet wires to hook them up? My 22 awg magnet wire is thinner than my 36 awg silicone wire.
Not that I’m aware of other than the obvious… the enamel insulation is easy to compromise with a hot iron.
You can get fine gauge solid core teflon insulated wire, it will be easier to work with because the insulation stays in place better, but it’s still easy to damage.
I’m not a proper engineer, so I can’t really tell you if you might get interference… but maintaining a bit of space between the wires should limit any possible problems.
Give it a try and let us know :-)
