Yeah but the number of killed Russians went from 1k+ to 500 overnight. Isn’t that weird considering the amount of destroyed artillery pieces? What gives?
Ukrainian Artillery shelling and they were not yet able to confirm deaths of the crews.
Ukraine got through the frontline somewhere resulting in Artillery being left behind. This could also mean that counting would be paused for a while and we would get huge numbers later.
Russians just leaving their stuff behind and running for their lifes.
There are probably even more explanations but I’m sure we will know soon.
In very general terms, you would expect to see larger numbers of soldiers and tanks to be reported lost when Russia is on the offensive, as those are sent out to spearhead attacks on Ukrainian lines. When the Russians are on the defensive, expect larger numbers of artillery, special equipment and vehicles to be destroyed, as Ukrainian forces strike Russian lines. When the Russians are in a desperate situation, offensive or defensive, expect aircraft numbers to rise as they demand their pilots take greater risks to support ground forces.
So those helicopter losses and Russia building up their defences close to Crimea seem to indicate that they are losing or at least massively worried about losing.
I really hope Ukraine can end this conflict fast!
At least in some areas. Just based on the loss numbers I would say they have had a very bad week. Of course the reports were getting are from Ukraine only, and even if they are completely accurate they can only paint a very vague picture of battle field conditions on their own.
32 Artillery pieces is just huge. And over 4000 tanks, can’t wait for the T-34s to come out of the museum onto the battlefield.

Those are all good points, thank you!

So like the helicopters in the last few days?
Yes thats right.
