This article is one of the many that talks about “turf wars” and trying to find space to play pickleball. I imagine in densely populated areas this is true but up here in the middle of nowhere New England, we haven’t had issues sharing the courts with tennis players.

We have 5 tennis courts that then have lines for 2x pickleball courts on each tennis court. Tennis nets are setup but you have to bring your own pickleball net. I think the only time I’ve seen all the courts full was when the local High School was using them (they don’t have their own courts) but that was on the calendar and easy to schedule around.

What’s the court situation like in your area?

There are some dedicated pickleball courts near where I am at a local park that are free, but everywhere else is extremely expensive (one club was $200 a year and $40 an hour). I’m about 20 minutes outside Philadelphia
