Next fest is awesome. I wish we still had demo CDs, but this is a close second.

Demo CDs are just a delivery mechanism, and I consider this way better.

Now the practice of giving a demo for a game, that does need to return.

This is one of the benefits of PS+; you can demo almost anything since it just gives you 2 hours with the full game.

Steam (and other PC fronts/games) could do this. But it would also make it quite easy to pirate those, which is probably why they don’t.

Steam used to give a free auto refund with less than 2 hours of play time, donno if they still do.

Now I just pirate a game to check it out and if I’m still playing it when the next update comes out then I buy it

They do except there’s the additional condition of 2 weeks since purchase date. So as long as you’ve played less than 2 hours and purchased within 2 weeks, you’ll get an automatic refund (unless you abuse the system, but I’ve returned many games over the years and never had issues).

I’ve had a game refunded at 3 weeks even, but it was under 1 hour of play time.

            • I’ve only taken advantage of this once. When I had VR, I got some utility program because it advertised being able to do something I was trying to do (I don’t remember what exactly), but it didn’t actually do that thing. I requested a refund after like 20 minutes of using it and it was pretty much instantly refunded.

Damn good policy, as long as you check out what you buy pretty quick to make sure it’s what you want, IMO.
