Goldenrod is a useful plant, and is numerous in the eastern United states.
Uses:
Field goldenrod:
-Treating jaundice
-Incense (has a perfumey scent, would recommend)
-Is a nitrogen fixer
European goldenrod:
-Urinary health
-Reducing inflammation
-Can prevent yeast infections
-Rich in antioxidants
Here’s an identification help for the European goldenrod, Solidago virgaurea.
I haven’t noticed it around here yet, but haven’t looked. I’ve used Solidago nemoralis for dyeing wool.
Oooh, cool.
