Stroll’s been in F1 long enough now that we know what we’ll get from him.

Poor qualifier and average racer. He’ll forever be the 12th-15th fastest on the grid.

I just don’t see any way his dad gets rid of him though.

I guess it will depend on how good stroll is doing when aston martin is battling for the constructor championship.

At some point there are no excuses left and I would assume the pressure form investors becomes big enough if he doesn’t deliver, to replace him.

      Edit: grammar

The media questions to Lance are going to be unbearably awkward if that time comes.

At the moment he certainly looks way too relaxed in interviews for someone so far behind his teammate

He is racing like someone who isn’t concerned about losing his seat.

when aston martin is battling for the constructor championship.

Thing is, Aston Martin are 13 pts off of Mercedes for 2nd.

        Alonso has 117 pts… Stroll has 37…

If Stroll even had half the points of Alonso, they would be 10 pts clear of the Mercs

The only slight argument in defence of Stroll is that the only people ahead of him in the drivers championship are Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, and the other Aston driver…

You’re completely right! But I guess they don’t care as much, since Red Bull is so far ahead. It would be different if this wasn’t the case.

slight argument in defence of Stroll

I have nothing against him, but he needs to get it together… same as Perez and Ferreri… and I guess the list goes on haha

Idk what happened this season but Max/RB are on another level and the rest is just there… lucky Alonso is there and Merc is also catching up.

Would Lawrence eventually offload him to another team as a paid driver so he could fill that seat with a better option?

Hmm this is the tough question he has to face (eventually)… family and business…

But I think Lance would quit F1 altogether and try his luck in a different series - so both of them can keep their faces.

Because Daddy Stroll is his dad. It’s really not that complicated.

There has to be a line somewhere obviously.

If he finishes last every race he’s gone. If he finishes 15th or lower every race while Alonso is a constant podium contender he’s gone (though obviously given more time than the average driver).

I fundamentally disagree. Stroll could not get out of q1 for every race and barely or never touch points and still keep his seat. He’s a paid driver. That’s what he is.
