Across the country, police have undermined and resisted reform. To protest a prosecutor, one detective was willing to let murder suspects walk free, even if he’d arrested them and believed that they should be behind bars.
Seems like they should subpoena him and hold him in contempt if he refuses to answer rather than just ask nicely and shrug when he doesn’t do what he’s supposed to
That and not having the lead detective testify really shouldn’t hurt your case that much if you have any actual evidence
But they have to play nicey nice if they want the state funded street thugs police to cooperate at all! If they were to make the police have to follow rules, the police will just let lawlessness reign!
