    I agree with the article, just regulate it through law.

    On the other had, with things like the framework laptop and fairphone, we can also choose with our wallets.

      The truth is most people don’t know about framework or fairphone and they don’t care. They want their $1200 phone shaped jewelry.

        Yeah, I know. But it’s not like 5 years ago when we had no alternatives. The alternatives are here, today, and they are quite good.

        Even amongst enthusiasts I see not wanting to spend money as being an issue.

        Besides Linux support and a few more traits, ThinkPads have been known for repairability and they have a strong following. But, most of the followers only buy used ones because they can get them cheap.
