I can imagine Hamas using identical justification for their murder and kidnapping of Israeli citizens. “Why didn’t they rise up against their government that is killing women and children in Gaza?” I’m so embarrassed that the US is greasing up this war machine.

And you can argue that a democratic population is somehow more guilty of whatever their government do that the population of a dictatorship. If the people of Israel wanted peace with Palestine, they would vote for someone else.

I can’t support that argument, if only because voters can’t know for sure how their candidates are going to react to different situations and might genuinely believe they’ll handle it in a way that doesn’t involve war crimes

Then again, maybe it’s just because I’m an American and know all too well what sort of attrocities my democratically elected government has carried out over the years

Netanyahu has a record he ran on. Enough people were comfortable with that record to get the fucker elected and re-elected.

Imagine if Americans voted Trump in again.

You know what you’re getting with some politicians and that’s the same with ol’ Netty.

Both sides have done horrible things and will keep doing horrible things. I wish I had a good answer but I don’t. The really shit part is this will make Ukraine suffer even more if Russian plan works gets focus away from Ukraine.
