I’m surprised BestBuy is still around. I can’t think of a time in like 20 years that they actually had the thing that I went there to buy. It’s not like I bought some alternative while I was there out of frustration. No I just went home and ordered it from the internet like I should have in the first place, vowing once again to never bother going to shitty Best Buy. This cycle has repeated every 5 years or so. I think the last thing I actually purchased there was a Voodoo 2 video card.

I bought a TV from them once cause Amazon kept fucking up my order (got “lost in transit” twice). They’re good for buying TVs, phones, and smartwatches when you don’t want to deal with shipping. Don’t bother if you’re looking for anything else, though. Especially car audio and computer components.

You are absolutely correct. My partner and I got Pixel 6s on a huge discount from Best Buy when it was time to upgrade.

I understand completely. The last time I went to a Best Buy was about 5 years ago for a game that was on sale because it had sold out already on Amazon. Annndd they didn’t have it either despite it being listed as in stock. Best Buy is useless.

Like a few folks have mentioned, I bought my last two TVs there. If it sucks or it’s a bad panel or I just don’t like it, I just box it up and take it back to the store. No wondering if it’ll get damaged in shipment or ganked off the porch (or take a day off and hope it’s delivered when it’s supposed to be).

They’re also really good with getting in amiibo, but that’s a super niche thing.

I go there quite a bit for tech stuff. Here in Canada (I’ll assume it’s the same for the states) they’ll prices match any retailer online or off and you can walk out with your thing that day. They have a 12 month payment plan so big purchases are a lot more manageable.
