Define “troll posts”. Because that sounds pretty arbitrary.
Anything that belongs on /poltics, posting liberal things. As a general and imperfect guide is anti-gun, pro-islsamic-terrorism (Hamas is included as islamic terrorism after they killed 1300 people), pro-trans-kids, and stuff like that.
A good faith post would align with conservative values. pro-gun, anti-islamic-terrorism, anti-trans-kids, and stuff like that.
I realize that its western centric, but thats what comes to mind.
Nobody is stopping you from going to c/politics and saying conservative things.
The problem is right wing posts getting buried under left wing posts. Having a dedicated space for them makes sense. Its a bit like having /c/starfield when /c/gaming exists, if that comparison makes sense.
Incidentally, buried posts is why I’m leaving the community on .world.
More like this community is for certain kinds of posts. Like a cats community banning dog posts, for example. Posting dog posts in a cats community and acting like they belong isn’t done in good faith. Ignorance maybe, but you don’t strick me as ignorant.
And what damage? The old community was overrun with off topic/bad faith/troll/whatever-it-is posts. Not to mention completely abandoned by the mods.

So people are only honest when they agree with you? That’s a terrible test for honesty.
While the comparison does make sense, it ignores the damage caused by branching off to create a new echo chamber.

But this isn’t just a simple fan subreddit for animals. It’s a place that influences votes, and therefore is subject to the dangers of echo chambers.
Echo chambers increase extremism, polarization, and can otherwise negatively effect people.
I don’t think we’re in any danger of right wing extremism on lemmy.
That’s what people thought on reddit.
Lol, listen to your sophistry.
Try even disagreeing with anything on communist/socialist/hexbear, etc community and see how fast you get banned.
Nothing progressives are hypocritical at every turn.
If you can’t go two seconds without going to whataboutism, then you have no room to complain about sophistry.
I don’t think those leftist communities should be echo chambers either.
Liberals are not supporting Hamas.
Would you prefer leftists? I feel like playing the label game is counter-productive.
Doesn’t change the fact that either way it isn’t true, nobody is supporting Hamas.
