This is actually nothing like that.
Besides what @[email protected] pointed out, “To Protect and to Serve” is just a motto, specifically the LAPD’s (and other forces have also adopted this). Police aren’t public protectors, their job is just to enforce the law (and a lot struggle with that).
Don’t kid yourself. Their job is to protect wealthy peoples property.
