In the 1950s and 1960s, the Army sprayed chemicals around the Pruitt-Igoe housing development as part of secret Cold War-era testing. Chester Deanes, left, and Ben Phillips lived in the development and say the chemicals, which the Army maintains were nontoxic, have made people sick.

      The only thing that could persuade me is if at the time that information wasn’t widely known. Otherwise it looks pretty bad. Especially when you think about the Tuskegee syphilis experiments on black folk.

        Or the fact that the military dosed it’s own soldiers with LSD in order to see if it could be used for mind control.
