    Never. While it may be satisfying, why let a temporary emotional response impact my career/income? They’re not worth it. Always have the next job lined up first. Always go through the motions of doing the right thing” so there are no strikes against your next job

      Always be interviewing. That way, you always have the next job lined up.

      I’ve walked out of a couple of jobs because a) fuck those guys, and b) I already had recruiters targeting me, and c) I had enough of an emergency fund to last me through the onboarding process at the new place. Had my next job within a month.

      If you’re hourly, then your old job doesn’t have to pay you. They can just not schedule you. You gain very little by giving notice, especially if you have no interest in keeping relations with them.

      My current job I’ll give 2 MONTHS notice if they want, they’re great and I’ll do what I can to make the transition smooth because they’ve been good to me.
