How’s everything going?

Havertz is our Xhaka replacement I think. Without him we’d be down to 3 10s which isn’t what Arteta wants

I doubt we ever see Havertz at pure 9 ngl, I’d almost rather see Martinelli there

Havertz played the 8 a few times with Chelsea and he didn’t have the defensive discipline to prosper in that position. I’d rather have someone like Lavia, Nelson or ESR (if he improves his defense) in that role. My point is Havertz’s variability is not a positive attribute. Arsenal need an outright number 9 and an out right number 8, but this is secondary to reinforcing the midfield with the likes of Rice and Lavia.

Nelson isn’t a midfielder lol. I think given the profile of left 8 options between Fabby V, ESR, and Havertz, we’re making it into 2 10s on the pitch and giving the lone 6 even more defensive responsibility. Havertz would fit very well in a second striker kinda role.

Nelson is a winger but I rate his awareness and ability to track back higher than Havertz. He might not be as physically imposing, but he has the tenacity needed for the role. We’ll see how this works out. Does lemmy have a reminder bot and tags? I’d love to set a wager. Havertz is gonna be a stinker for Arsenal. He’ll have the worst xG and big chances missed. If he has a positive xG to goals ratio, you can give me a tag of your choice, if not I’ll choose a tag for you for next year’s transfer window.

I’m not making bets lol especially given he hasn’t even been announced; also idek if you can do flairs on this. Besides, xG doesn’t define players; otherwise Jesus would be the worst striker we’ve had in some time.

Pep and Arteta are moving away from players who specialize in one thing, and are looking for players who are more versatile.

Havertz has a lot of qualities that will suit our style of play and while he isn’t defensively suited for the 8 role I can see Arteta slowly integrating him into the role, especially against teams who will park the bus.

Stylistically I think Havertz is a great option and will do well here and will add yet another dimension to our attacking options.
