100% staying on Lemmy. Right at the beginning of June, I was crushed by the decisions Reddit had made. I made my first account in 2011 and was a daily user. I have replaced Apollo with Mlem and Memmy on my homescreen.

I have found over the last few weeks between primarily lemmy, but also kbin, and mastodon that I’m having more meaningful interactions, the community is actually welcoming, the content is better and deeper.

I think I’m in a minority where I don’t even miss the extensive content or specific subs as much as I thought I would? I realized that my interactions and the content had really degraded in quality over the years. This was shown to me by how welcoming and cool everybody has been here. I was typically a lurker on reddit but am posting comments and posts much more often here.

I am excited to see these small communities grow. I don’t want them to become reddit, I want them to be their own thing. Thank you to everybody who has made this transition so much better than I anticipated.
