This. I was always losing bics but my wife got me a Zippo and engraved a picture my kid drew on it. It will stay with me until I die. Then my kids can toke up with it.
I can relate. My Zippo does not have a design as fancy as yours, but I bought mine on a vacation abroad and because of that it is special to me. Also, the sound a Zippo makes when opening, igniting, and closing it don’t get old to me :)
I found mine on the venue floor after a Dylan concert. I’ve considered taking up smoking just to get some use for it. But it’s nice to have on a hike as well. A bit more healthy too.
Maybe if you buy a nice, more expensive one, e.g., a Zippo, you are more careful and keep track of it better? Just a thought.

Zippos do have a great tactile feel. Almost like a fidget spinner. I’m terrible with keeping track of lighters so I don’t have one though.
