Considering Hamas has a significant (far lesser than Gaza) presence in the West Bank, this is to be expected. Israel has stated one of their goals for this war is to destroy the organization completely. I’m on mobile so I’ll dig up a source later, but there was a rally in Ramallah flying Hamas flags today, which is extremely surprising given the animosity between them and the PA.

Hamas is a movement. What do they think will be the outcome of this. They have set the stage for full blown war across the region. Unfortunately the US will keep the arms flooding in as well so the only logical conclusion is hell on earth for civilians, and continuation of this vicious cycle of violence.

Well Hamas’ charter does state their goal is to kill all Israelis. Both versions. Their goals are pretty clear.

Israel has not formally declared their goals for this war, but my guess is that it’s any mix of the following:

        • Kill all military membership of Hamas
        • Kill all senior leadership of Hamas
        • Kill all political members of Hamas
        • Return the hostages who are still alive
        • Return the bodies of those who are not

Once those goals are achieved, my guess is the exit plan is some mix of these:

        • Up and leave Gaza. Just like that.
        • Hand over rule of Gaza to one of the following:
          • The PA
          • Egypt
        • Establish a security corridor inside Gazan territory
        • Establish a security corridor inside Israeli territory

There are other options but they are unfeasible or so unlikely I didn’t list them.
