The headline is misleading. The pipeline already exists. Some equipment along the line is being upgraded, and it will be able to carry slightly more gas.
I know that it’s an expansion, and not an entirely new line. It still really sucks.
Increasing delivery of fossil fuels in with our current understanding is infuriating. It hurts the environment, and with nearly every government requiring emissions to be reduced, which should reduce how much this line needs to transport, it’s not a long-term investment. It’s just the oil company trying to smash and grab as much as they can before they head out the door.
