That doesn’t really mean all that much, because not all media is equally credible.
In my experience, I greater number of conservatives distrust AP news, Reuters, NPR, etc than progressives despite such organizations being the most credible of the bunch.
A better statistic would show the trust per media organization.
TLDR:
32% of Americans trust the news media a “great deal” or “fair amount”
29% do not trust the media very much.
39% do not trust the media at all.
Its also split among political lines, 58% of leftists trust the media while only 11% of right wingers trust the media. Independents are at 29%.

That would be a better metric, but I cant seem to find a study, google is just not being helpful these days.
