minus-square@SCBlinkEnglish3•edit-21 year agoIf you’re taken in by conspiracy theories, it’s not because the information is compelling-but-unseen, but rather because you want to believe that A) information that confirms your biases is true B) you are privy to knowledge others don’t have. These two things reinforce one another.

If you’re taken in by conspiracy theories, it’s not because the information is compelling-but-unseen, but rather because you want to believe that
A) information that confirms your biases is true
B) you are privy to knowledge others don’t have.
These two things reinforce one another.
