    From the article:

    It is only the second time that a tattoo has been found from medieval Nubia

    I think that makes it a little rare

      Probably just means they had a pretty hard time finding 1300-year-old skin that was preserved enough for that.

          You’re right, that’s dumb, I’m removing it. I was just thinking about how it’s frowned upon to have super visible tattoos in some places in our society, but that’s obviously not going to be apples to apples throughout history.
