Inspired by this comment, I’m curious how many people play DS or 3DS online, or even older GB games by some virtual Link Cable emulation? (If that exists?)

Last time I played was RE Revelations quite a while ago, and that was pretty active. I wonder how it’s now. I imagine people still playing Mario Kart.

While I’m too busy with other stuff at this time, I think it would be cool to gather information and resources and maybe coordinate some online games for the handheld lemmies.

It’s also worth noting that 3DS is one of the newest consoles that still offers free multiplayer. I only have a PS3 and 3DS and as such, I still can’t wrap my head around it that all the current consoles require a subscription to play with fiends. In other words, [email protected].

It is too early for this kind of premise, I don’t even remember if in Reddit this kind of meetings were ever executed lol.

It is kinda hard to make DS and Wii online sessions nowadays (I mean, if you already made your way through the Fediverse is not that hard, but still some previous steps are required).

The most popular custom server for both Wii and DS is Wiimmfi, I just got this telegram bot to notify me when somebody is online on my desired games lol

3DS and I suppose Wii U would be way easier to make it work, since no special workarounds are needed to play online most of their games as of today.

Well, people have revived dead OG Xbox and PS3 multilayer titles, and play them. Lemmy should be the perfect place for those kinds of shenanigans.

Exactly, let’s just give it some time, for now I still hop around some discord servers to check if somebody is willing to play.
