I just looked at the wiki. That checks out for me for sure. I’d have to do a bit of a deeper dive to get a feel for Marxism, but overall the description sounds spot on. Thanks for pointing the way.
Oh i really like it actually, from the little I read. Particulary:
economic organisation, or mode of production, influences all other social phenomena, including broader social relations, political institutions, legal systems, cultural systems, aesthetics and ideologies. These social relations and the economic system form a base and superstructure.
And
At a certain stage of development, the material productive forces of society come into conflict with the existing relations of production
I think we are at an inflection point where technology and how we interact at a societal and class level, just makes zero sense…if it ever did.
If you could pick one book to recommend, what would it be? I’m very much into philosophy, anthropology, etc. If you wouldn’t mind giving me your “must read” book when it comes to leftist thought, something that is inherently critical of itself, id be much obliged. Hell I may even have it in my library lol
no, its very good, look it up.

i would recommend the communist manifesto, because it is good to read such a historically significant foundational text.
I definitely have that one, haven’t read it in a maybe 16 years. Gimme something else, your personal favorite. (Not that I won’t re read that one)
I dont have a singular book the recommend you honestly.
