You know, I had this tune in my head, but I was like: is it really house? But I figured this community doesn’t get a lot of posts so it wouldn’t matter. Or maybe it’d inspire someone else to post “real” house.
If we communicated with the mods of the c/housemusic community we might be able to start a classic house/jit community with ties to this one. If lemmy ever gets tags like Reddit did we probably wouldn’t need it. The problem is I know exactly what style of music we’re taking about and it falls into lots of categories- classic house, g house, jit, juke, gtech, Detroit techno, booty bass, etc. We might have a better chance on Midwest.social, because early house music took off in Chicago and Jit/gtech took off in Detroit. I don’t want to be too picky about genres, just as long as a song fits the vibe it would be ok. I’d vibe with European electro and old school rave music too. At the moment, we need some more viewership to make it feasible.
Yeah, that last thing you say is the main issue, there’s not much viewership, more specifically not to many people posting. It might be easier to define this community as “house music and several related genres” until it grows, or else it’ll just be another dead community.
