You’ll notice I have yet to take a position on either side. I asked for a source for a comment which doesn’t seem to be able to be substantiated. Have fun replying to yourself.

Here’s the thing, if you’re unwilling to admit that Al-Jazeera is biased in favour of Hamas, you have taken a position.

Have fun pretending to take the higher ground.

Hamas’ charter calls for the killing of Jews in Palestine. Al-Jazeera, especially Al-Jazeera arabic, is often outright pro-Hamas propaganda.

Oh, and for those reading this who think being critical of Hamas or Al-Jazeera, is somehow the same as defending Israel:

There’s plenty of evidence to suggest that for years elements in Israel supported Hamas. Causing division in the Palestinian side and undermining the PLO/Fatah, helped undermine the Palestinian cause. These latest Hamas attacks have also been a godsend for Jewish far right supremacists. Those who (inadvertently) support Hamas, are arguably supporting those who help undermine any chance of a free Palestine.

“if you’re unwilling to admit that X is biased in favor ofY you have taken a position.”

I mean yeah, but when everything is biased, and it sure as shit is, then you kinda have to take the good with the bad.

Everything you just said applies just as well as “if you are unwilling to admit that US media sources in general are biased in favor of Israel you have taken a position.”

It’s honestly odd to me that you think that the media consumed having a bias automatically means you agree with that bias.

additionally, it’d be odd if the govt owned media that reports to a government who wants to do what it can to help extremely disaffected minorities in nation-states where they are viciously oppressed. The fact that Hamas may be at fault doesn’t really figure in. Are they terrorists? Yeah kinda. Are there viable options that aren’t violence for them? Not really? Is that more than partially their fault? Sure.

Buuut does it matter to the US when our effectively state owned media decides to call the leader of a nation a dictator until he agrees to an oil deal with the US at which point he becomes a legitimate head of state?

GtfO with your oversimplification and demagoguery

Do you think Hamas - a group Al-Jazeera offers favourable coverage - had no choice but to murder members of Fatah, seize control in the Gaza strip, and undermine Palestinian unity?

Not so long ago Mahmoud Zahar the leader of Hamas - a group Al-Jazeera offers favourable coverage - refused to rule out suicide bombings against Fatah in the West Bank. Do you think Hamas has no choice but to suicide bomb fellow Palestinians?

Did you know any of that? Or are you hopelessly out of your depth like most people commenting on this issue?

Only as hopelessly out of my depth as you are. Difference is I’m openly staying the fact and you are merely pretending.

You think Palestinian unity was gonna fix the problems with Israel? Funny.

You should probably read these articles:

Hamas launched in 1988 in Gaza at the time of the first intifada, or uprising, with a charter now infamous for its anti-Semitism and its refusal to accept the existence of the Israeli state. But for more than a decade prior, Israeli authorities actively enabled its rise. At the time, Israel’s main enemy was the late Yasser Arafat’s Fatah party, which formed the heart of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Fatah was secular and cast in the mold of other revolutionary, leftist guerrilla movements waging insurgencies elsewhere in the world during the Cold War. … The Israelis saw [the Muslim Brotherhood’s] adherents in the Palestinian territories, including the wheelchair-bound Sheik Ahmed Yassin, as a useful counterweight to Arafat’s PLO. … “When I look back at the chain of events I think we made a mistake,” one Israeli official who had worked in Gaza in the 1980s said in a 2009 interview with the Wall Street Journal’s Andrew Higgins. “But at the time nobody thought about the possible results.”

              https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2014/07/30/how-israel-helped-create-hamas/

“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists. “I … suggest focusing our efforts on finding ways to break up this monster before this reality jumps in our face,” he wrote.

You think Palestinian unity was gonna fix the problems with Israel?

Divide and conquer. Divide and rule.

Old as time and proven track record.

Al Jazeera surely is biased in favor of Arabs and Palestinians. The Western media is also clearly biased in favor of Israel and western imperialism. Therefore, it’s an important non-western perspective for trying to understand a complex issue, particularly for Americans who know more about the Kardashians than they know about what’s happening in the world.

You may as well change your username to “BLOCKME” at this point. You are not worth having conversations with.
