Looking at a 4070ti or a 4080 to upgrade my dual 1080s from my other post but now I’m not sure which 3rd party model to choose (ASUS TUF, MSI, ZOTAC, Gigabyte…). I’m looking for longevity and not specifically max power if that means a shorter life. Using it mostly for general gaming. Mostly FPS and such.

What’s the difference?

Is it just added cooling for boosted performance?

Why does the price change ~$400?

Chances are im either too dumb or don’t use any programs that would require overclocking/boosting.

I’m willing to shell out the $ if it’s worth it but I have no idea. I may wait until the 50s come out to pull the trigger but that’s an issue for later.

My current build with 32gb RAM instead of 16: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/3h4CmG

This. Sound was an important factor for me, and so I picked the general family(s) and narrowed down from there, but whether the processor is tuned to 3.4GHz or 3.5GHz isn’t something that’s going to affect performance in any human-noticable way for 99% of games.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I’m not cool enough to understand the difference and I definitely won’t be maxing it out. Thanks
