    It’s true that Progizhin is going for the classic russian “good tzar fooled by military leader” narrative. But Putin declared Prigozhin an enemy and a terrorist in today’s address. Hard to imagine cooperation between them going forward.

      Yeah, I wrote this before Putin’s speech.
      Maybe Putin plays a double game where he acted in support of a coup and now wants to remove both the MoD and Prigozhin.

        Or maybe he told Prigozhin he’d back his coup attempt, so Prigozhin would make the first move and look like the instigator, so Putin and the MoD could look like they have the moral high ground by “defending” Russia from Wagner’s “unprovoked” coup.

        It’s exactly the kind of “seems clever until you think it through for longer than a few seconds and realize it’s absolute idiocy” type shit Putin pulls all the time.

          Most probably, you’re right.
          That sounds like something the inventor of the 1+ year long “3 day special operation” who destroyed the myth of the “second strongest army in the world” would do.
