I am looking for some plants ideally edible or other uses, that can grow indoors.
I tried tobacco, pythaya (dragon fruit), aloe. But it doesn’t grow well or I have to wait very long time to have something from it.
So what is your go to indoor “useful” houseplant?
I’m growing a couple edible plants hydroponically with simple kratky systems. I’ve got a couple basil plants, oregano, mint and red peppers. I trim their roots once in a while or else they die and rot, killing the plants. This does however cause them to give more energy to new root growth instead of leaf/fruit growth. But I mostly grow them for the fun of it, so I don’t mind. The peppers are doing pretty well after two years and gave a half kilo harvest last year, which made wonderful fermented hot sauce. I start the basil and mint over every couple months using propagated clippings.
