Highlights: Dr. Bernice King is no stranger to watching people on social media use her father’s legacy to score a point. But this time, she’d clearly had enough of it.

On Wednesday, the daughter of the late-civil rights icon, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called out comedian Amy Schumer for implying that he would have supported Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.

Don’t forget posting small excerpts of larger works that completely miss the larger meaning in favor of a modern political agenda.

That’s the how of the same point. They did the thing you said, to accomplish what you replied to.

Erase who’s making the most sound and has a following, then control what people can learn about it.

Otherwise the kids grow up and know better than what they’re told in class

Totally agree. Opponents of affirmative action, reparations, and the like will quote this: line:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Without doing the basic research to find that MLK Jr. was in favor of reparations. Or try to bend his words to supporting capitalism when he was more socialist (though he opposed totalitarian communism).
