I’ve never understood the need to wear shoes that cost a months salary and can’t ever get dirty… The whole point of shoes is that they get dirty and scuffed up protecting your feet

I totally get cool and expensive shoes, I just don’t get wearing them as a daily thing. I don’t have to though, people don’t need my approval to wear whatever the fuck they want

After living in New York for decades, I get that a lot of people sort of have their “thing”. Some people are into tech and have to have the latest phone or watch or whatever. Some people are into haute cotoure. Others into alternative fashion like sports caps with those stickers or high-priced kicks. I don’t judge.

Everyone has their thing that they’re into. It makes sense to them but seems completely bonkers to “normies”. Whatever. Let people be happy with their thing as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Collectible sneakers is pretty harmless and, tbh, really interesting.

Sneakerheads usually have beaters: shoes they wear regularly that they don’t mind getting scuffed. But they will sometimes wear their nicer pairs. That’s when they are super careful 😁

Like I don’t care if my random, old shirt gets ketchup on it, but I’d be pretty bummed if my designer shirt did.

I’m well aware I don’t have to, but I can and I will. Isn’t that sort of the whole point of this website?

I mean you’re on a street wear instance complaining about a post that is clearly not meant for you? Also it’s not weird that people spend money on clothing they like and it’s not weird they want to keep it clean. I’m not even a part of this community, it is, in my opinion, shitty behavior and no, I do not think wandering into communities and offering your opposing opinion is the point of the website.

Wandering in? It was right at the top of the page as soon as I opened the app, basically begging me to comment on it lol

Discussion is the point of the website. You could have just as easily given a counterpoint as to why people like expensive shoes that they will practically risk their lives to protect, but instead you made your own shitty condescending comment that added absolutely nothing to the conversation.

I was honestly hoping someone could explain it to me, but I got this bullshit instead

You’re welcome to comment here. I don’t know why you’re catching heat for discussing something on a discussion website 💫

They’re shoes, relax. And chill with the gatekeeping.
