Well it’s different, per sub. I am/was mod of /r/GMECanada, and we can still say ‘lemmy’ there and direct-link with no issues.

The lemmy keyword ban is definitely a thing on r/Superstonk; if I recall correctly I even got a scolding for mentioning lemmy once on r/GMEJungle though as well.

That was all back in July. I wouldn’t be surprised if reddit admins as a whole aren’t starting to crack down on mention of external platform migration discussions, though…

Sorry, I was overly strident. I’m sorry also to hear the jungle is that way, it was often a stronghold of decency.

Reddit hasn’t even completed IPO yet, so I do expect things to continue to worsen however. Why I’m mainly here instead.

Oh, no need to apologize to me :) I lost all enthusiasm for reddit around the July 1st timeframe with the API fiasco, and especially after the superstonk mods banned me for replacing my old comments (as a protest action) with a placeholder mentioning lemmy and encouraging users to try it out. IMHO my comments are my comments regardless of platform, so I assert I have a right to update them as I see fit, at any time. But the mods apparently did not agree.

Reddit on days ending in z: 🥶🍑

They really think they can monetize “people talking on the internet” to the point of becoming billionaires. I cannot allow them to be correct.
