Don’t forget the 2 minute preamble about how the options have changed, and how they value you as a customer.

If some bad shit went down, it’s also a 30 second recording of “unprecedented times”.

When have the options ever not changed?

Do they think I’m calling so regularly that I have the options memorized? If so, that assumption says a lot about how shitty their product or service is.

It’s a psychological trick to make you pay attention.

There’s one doctor’s office I call that has been saying “our menu options have changed” for like 10 years and literally the options are:

        • 1 - If you are a doctor
        • 2 - New patient or existing patient scheduling an appointment
        • 3 - medication refills
        • 4 - billing
        • 5 - directions and fax number
        • 0 - talk to a representative

It hasn’t changed and have my phone programmed to wait 3 seconds before hitting 2.
