Why are you playing dumb? That’s how franchises work, thats how comics work, they switch actors and characters all the time. You pissed at Dr. Who? What about Batman? Some of those movies completely rework the character/backstory.

What about Batman? He was rebooted many times but he was always Bruce Wayne? Same as Superman and Spider-man? James Bond was also rebooted many times but he was always the same James Bond. I don’t know how it is in the games, but in the comics he was originally someone who lived in the same world as the old Spider-Man and took up the mantle. Peter Parker wasn’t replaced as a character, he was just dead.
