After Noma and Gavroche, another Michelin-starred restaurant has announced it’s closing. Alex Greene, head chef of Deanes EIPIC in Belfast, says fine dining is becoming “a bygone era.”
However, this month the company announced Deanes EIPIC will be closing by the end of 2023 due to increased price sensitivity among customers and the impact of Covid, Brexit and the cost-of-living crisis. A relaunch is planned with a new “value for money” focus.
Business Darwinism. Maybe another restaurant will open in the same place with normal food for normal people at normal prices.
Pshh, you’ve never gone to Subway and gotten a 100$ tasting plate?
