minus-square@Knoll0114linkEnglish3•1 year agoInterestingly in Aus this rule couldn’t disenfranchise people because voting is compulsory. Seems like a bit of a strange thing to implement when it isn’t, it’s not like the UK is getting 110% turnout.

It’s a very targeted strategy to intentionally disenfranchise those people who are unlikely to vote for the current government.
