I watched a pack of animals running down an Iranian apartment block during the last round of violent protests (in response to non-violent protests), randomly blasting into people’s homes. I was stunned, but came to think, “That can’t happen in America.” To back up, my first thought was, “Why is no one shooting back?!”
Changed my view of the importance of an armed citizenry. A man like this wouldn’t even state such things in America. May be the only reason America hasn’t devolved into full on fascism. OTOH, the vote seems to be working again (mostly), so we got that going for us.
