Parents created this problem by buying their kids some overpriced hardware, and of course young, susceptible humans full hormones and incompletely developed brains, looking to discern themselves from millions of others, found a way to do so: exclusive features in their overpriced bubble --> chat colors suddenly matter.
But if you can pretend to belong and it’s cheaper (?), way to go. I hope the EU forces Apple to make iMessage interopable like WhatsApp and other apps.
