Can’t believe I’m rooting for Wagner, but it’s a pity Prigozhin folded when he did.
I think it’s not so bad. If Prigozhin took power we might have ended up with a strong dictator who’s competent at running a military, whereas with Putin left in power we’ve got a weak dictator who’s not competent at running a military.
It’s a bit like how by the end of WWII it was probably best to not assassinate Hitler, since he was actively ruining Germany’s chances of accomplishing anything.
I think the ideal outcome would be that Prigozhin and Putin get into protracted civil war, and then whoever came out would emerge bloody and severely weakened.
It is an it isn’t. What you said is true, but every minute they would have spent fighting each other is one they wouldn’t have been fighting in Ukraine. That would’ve given the UA more time to gain ground, resupply, and get ready for the next battles
