    Any Sydneysiders care to comment on this? My understanding is that the northern suburbs are much more wealthy than the others, so this project appears to be placating to the upper classes rather than servicing areas like the west which is poorer. Happy to be corrected.

      Kinda but the northern suburbs have needed a train for a long time. The the extent that the nimbys in the north don’t want one for worry it will bring in the “riff raff”. The West needs more trains, but they already have three train lines out towards Parramatta.

      Sort of, the metro line started with Epping to Chatswood (that’s how I see it anyway) which to be fair is still fairly rich. You’re right that north Sydney to brangaroo are like the rich rich area.

      There is more lines coming though, one from Westmead (west) to the city, and another way further west (st Mary’s) to the new airport line.

      You’re right though, that west doesn’t always get the best. And as someone who used to work city to Chatswood the train was typically better and less issues then when I worked out west (Parra).
