I find a lot of the tips like that don’t mean much, just throw it all together and make it with a minimum of fuss, and the bread turns out fine.
Bread will always end up alright if you know what to do, it’s just a matter of how long you’re willing to dedicate to it. Yeast and sugar together knocks off some rise time, the quality is going to be identical.
