I love the decentralized web, I left the others and came to the new sites… We know that there will only be a matter of time before there is the next ‘we’ve had enough’ moment, so what are the things that we can do to help build the technologies to be ready for it?

I think it’s important that there be a rich culture that is approachable, but that doesn’t mimic what the other platforms do. Lemmy won’t have the numbers that the other site has. But surely we have more to offer that isn’t memes of cans of beans.

    1. Curate your subs. I’ve been here a short time, but even in that time the amount of low effort reddit-like content I’ve seen has exploded. Be aggressive about removing subs that have the crap and subscribing to the good stuff.

    3. Platforms that can follow Mastodon posts may be better – I’ve noticed that Lemmy is better at organizing content into subs obviously, but Mastodon is better with individual users who have consistently high quality content that are worth following. Maybe kbin can do both? I don’t really know.
