U.S. leader Joe Biden backed prolonging the pause, saying it’s allowing for the delivery of 'critically needed” aid to Gaza and the recovery of hostages.

Well Hamas got to free some Palestinian political prisoners, and there’s a good chance they can get the blockade loosened, but I see your point.

Israeli right-wing militaristic government and Hamas both got to create another generation of Palestinians who will resent Israel and perpetuate the violence. Its exactly what they both needed.

Edit: to be clear, both countries got nothing out of this, and the Israeli and Palestinian people got nothing out of this

Tbh, the Hamas did get kind of something out of this in that the Palestinian crisis got more attention than I’ve ever seen before. A new generation of young people have seemed to have escaped the Israeli propaganda and support freedom for Palestinians. Hopefully, people don’t forget after the ceasefire and we get some sort of more permanent solution, preferably a one state one, but Joe and other leaders prefer a two state one, but whatever works.

I really hope you’re right, a lasting peace feels out of reach when the scars of the partition are still fresh. I’m Indian American, and the partition of India in 1947 feels like a similar situation (with less active conflict afaik).

I can only hope that as time passes the generations to come can take more positive action.
