More thoughts on the ongoing microtransaction discussion. I personally agree with everything Datto says in this, and think he generally has more grounded takes than most in the community. I particularly agree with his thoughts on Cross’ “pay-to-win” arguments.
What does everyone else think?
I agree with Cross. The fact that you can buy your way through level 100 of the seasonal content on day one lessens the grind considerably with the xp bonuses, along with unlocking the deepsight tokens. The only time Cross became hyperbolic was at the end, when he described how the microtransaction creep could continue.
Yet even there he brings up several good points. Yet the best point he makes is that “pay to win” is a very subjective term. Where you draw the line may be quite different from another player.
