Companies aren’t responsible for it so I doubt instances will get in trouble.

Plus, more than one country, recently Canada, has introduced a “link tax”, a backass absurd regulation, where link aggregators have to pay news sites for clicks through to their articles. Would every Lemmy instance be responsible for tracking and paying for clicks of an article federated from any one instance?
