“Karma” was a concept that was easily manipulated and abused on other, closed, platforms.
Lemmy.one observes no downvote system whatsoever, only upvotes. Downvotes don’t even federate from other instances, so everything is more or less upvoted or remains at 1. I love it.
Having no downvotes makes it easy to ignore upvotes as well. Plus, no cumulative karma is nice. Unlike reddit, I don’t really notice or care if I get upvotes or not.
