U.S. congressional armed services committee leaders vowed on Wednesday that a must-pass $886 billion defense policy bill will be enacted this year, despite disputes over social issues dividing Republicans and Democrats.
Not only does the NDAA contain COLAs for Military pay, it also contains the COLA for every civil servant on the GS Pay System, an additional 1.9m-2m people on top of the ~1.1m active duty servicemembers. So Republicans are screwing with nearly 3 million peoples pay (directly) because they throw hissy fits whenever they don’t get their way.
