Let’s talk about organizing a Belgian community on the threadiverse (the reddit-like side of the fediverse).
Right now, the community isn’t coordinated, there are multiple spaces that popped up after the blackout. There’s this one, there’s @[email protected], there’s c/belgique, I think there’s one on lemmy.ml too?
What do you guys think we should do? How should we reach out? Discuss!
So I made an account, so I’m at least here as a user
I reached out to the /r/belgium mods and had a talk with Dakracs on their discord channel. He’s also talking to other mods of /r/belgium and we’ll see from there. The /r/belgium sub is closed currently but maybe they are willing to link to us here. All still open for discussion but we had a good first talk.
So, welcome Dakracs!
Great job!
Welcome!
Welcome! What’s the mood with the other r/belgium mods & users? You reckon there are some that are willing to make a switch?
So far the answers I received were that they were not that interested in Lemmy right now. Not sure if that was only in a modding sense or also a user sense.
Can’t speak for the users, I linked this community so we’ll see how much influx there is.
How did you link it? The old sub is still set to private seemingly. If you want to get people over, it might help to open it up with no new posts and just a reference to here. Giving their opinion in the daily chat I just made is what will drive many people to create an account. The eternal war between good (people who say curryworst) and the rotten evil(people who say frikandel) will continue in perpetuity.
