    I’m talking about Reddit, not Lemmy. I’ve already tried out most Lemmy apps, and they’re incredibly promising; far better than the unusable trash Reddit wants me to use.

      You mean to tell me that apps made by community volunteers as a labor of love in a couple of weeks are better than the app made by a for-profit company and has been developed for years? Funny how that works.

        Not just that, their ‘app’ used to be a beloved iOS app called Alien Blue, which blew everything else out of the water back in the day (imo still does). Reddit bought out and absolutely butchered it in their process to have their own app. They also hired the dev, who was mistreated pretty badly by Reddit management.

        So yes, apps made by community volunteers as a labor of love have always been better than corporate slop designed in a boardroom by cynical executives.
